Vaccines
At first, your puppy or kitten receives protective particles called antibodies from their mother, which help them fight infection. These antibodies are transferred while in the womb and through nursing. However, by 6–8 weeks of age, those antibody levels begin to decline, reducing their ability to protect against various infections.
At this stage, additional protection is needed. Vaccines stimulate the immune system to produce its own antibodies. Most vaccines require a series of doses to achieve full immunity, as outlined in our vaccine protocol. Once the initial puppy or kitten vaccine series is completed, your pet will need to return annually, provided they remain current on vaccinations, to keep their immune system functioning at its best.
